Varadero is Cuba’s most tourism oriented town, which can easily be concluded by the sheer number of hotels and resorts. The numerous shops, hotels, restaurants and cafes make this town worthwhile, but what really makes it special is a beach stretching out over 20 kilometers of uninterrupted golden sand. Truly a sight to see!
If you want to get to where it all began, Holguin is the place to be. When Christopher Columbus first laid eyes on it, he proclaimed it to be “the most beautiful land human eyes have ever seen.” , and when you arrive there we’re pretty sure you’ll agree. Holguin is Cuba’s third most popular tourist destination, mainly thanks to the region’s stunning beaches, and incredible nature life. Reefs, barriers, marine life, forests, hills and mountains make sure that nature lovers will enjoy this little slice of Cuba. If you’re a more urban type, Holguin also has a number of cities, the most important being Holguin city. Dubbed “the city of parks“, Holguin city offers a plethora of plazas, parks, clubs and a number of museums. Definitely worth checking out!
Last but not least, “the museum city of Cuba“, Trinidad. Trinidad is wonderfully preserved, and as such is a great way to immerse yourself in the past of Cuba and the Caribbean. Sprawling plazas, Spanish architecture, old buildings and sugar mills, this UNESCO protected site has them all. Most of the famous buildings are located around the main square, the Plaza Mayor, but that doesn’t mean the rest of the town is without charm too. Trinidad’s picturesque location, between mountains and coast, is truly spectacular, and one of the reasons Trinidad has been one of the most popular tourist destinations in Cuba. The nearby mountains and beaches offer a chance to relax, but also to have fun and adventure.
